Alterations and additions to existing dwelling

Completion

November 2007

The house is a stonefaced mid-terrace house in Macclesfield.  The house clients wanted to reorganise the living space to accommodate a new kitchen, sitting room, and dining space.

The solution was to open up the rear of the house and glaze over the roof of the yard next to the old kitchen to allow a large open plan space all on one level.

As the new space was south facing, the new kitchen was moved into the main house leaving a large sun filled living space directly connected with the garden.  The proposals included folding sliding doors, so that the whole width of the room could open onto the new deck beyond.
